The MYCOMM Training Programme Committee met on 5-6 July to finalise a comprehensive training program aimed at strengthening the capacity and role of youth organisations supporting young migrants and refugees. The MYCOMM project, funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, aims to address key challenges related to communication and advocacy for equality and inclusion in these organisations .

In order to achieve that, the training program for youth organisations will include communication and audio-visual skills training, social networking and peer learning. Therefore, it marks a crucial step forward in strengthening the capacity of youth organisations working with migrants and refugees. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis carried out, four focus groups were set up to assess the results.

Over the course of two days, the MYCOMM Training Programme Committee synergised the findings from the SWOT analysis and focus groups to outline a training programme. This programme will focus on providing leaders and staff of youth organisations working on migration issues with valuable opportunities to strengthen their communication skills. Specifically in audiovisual techniques, social networking strategies and public advocacy.

In essence, the MYCOMM project demonstrates the European Union’s commitment to promoting equality and inclusion of young migrants and refugees. To summarize, by equipping youth organisations with improved communication and advocacy skills, the project aims to empower them to create a more inclusive society for all. This training program for youth organisations is the first step in this direction.
