OBREAL has had the pleasure of participating in the Contact Seminar between Spanish and Indian Universities organized by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

More than 21 Indian universities, delegates from most of the Catalan universities and representatives of the Catalan government have been present at the seminar. The participants were thus able to understand the way that the higher education sector is organized in Spain and India. The aim of the event was to explore the possibilities of cooperation between Spanish and Indian universities.

On the one hand, we explored collaboration for mobility. The number of student exchanges between India and Spain is still very low, and the representatives of the Indian universities showed great interest in increasing this number.

On the other hand, we discussed collaboration in the framework of cooperation projects. Experts from SEPIE explained the process of developing and implementing of international cooperation projects co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program. A topic that also generated interest among the Indian attendees.

OBREAL was invited to give a presentation. Our Senior Project Manager Jaume Fortuny explained our mission and actions, especially the work we have been carrying out in India during the last 10 years. OBREAL attracted several people to our table during the networking session. We were able, then, to discuss future ways of collaboration and cooperation with different Indian universities as well as with the Association of Indian Universities.
