OBREAL was proud to organise and host the annual Donor Harmonisation Group (DHG) Forum 2022 from 23-25 November. The forum brought together prominent agencies, international organisations and associations dedicated to supporting and funding higher education in development cooperation.
This year’s DHG Forum addressed the theme ‘Creating Reciprocal, Mutually Beneficial Partnerships to Address Local and Global Challenges’. As a result, the Donor Harmonisation Group demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity and progress by discussing the possibility of adopting a new name to better reflect its evolving values and objectives.
The importance of inclusivity
Participants in the DHG Forum 2022 engaged in dynamic discussions and shared invaluable experience in programming and managing funds while working with partners in the South. The focus was on co-designing development cooperation programmes. Through building impact assessment capacity within Southern partner organisations and promoting the development of ethical guidelines for effective cooperation.
What set this year’s Forum apart was OBREAL’s commitment to inclusivity. Because the event welcomed numerous members and partners from Africa, Latin America and South East Asia. This enriched the discussions and ensured their relevance to diverse contexts.
The DHG Forum 2022 served as an important platform for key stakeholders to exchange ideas, forge partnerships and collectively address pressing challenges in the field of higher education and development cooperation. Thus, the event facilitated the establishment of strong, sustainable and impactful projects that will make a difference in communities around the world.
