About this event

This meeting was hosted and promoted by Obreal in collaboration with the Argentinian Ministry of Education, acting as Pro-Tempore Presidency of CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States).

The event brought together government representatives and leading higher education associations and organizations to explore how universities and the higher education sector contribute to local and regional development. Discussions centered on key thematic areas such as climate change, energy, and conflict.

Participants also examined current examples of South–South–North collaboration, highlighting partnerships between Africa, Latin America, and Europe that advance these shared goals. The meeting underscored the importance of expanding multi-regional cooperation to strengthen higher education’s role in addressing global and regional challenges.
