Strengthening Commercial Links Between Garraf and Buenos Aires

Obreal, in collaboration with Node Garraf – Development Agency, has contributed to strengthening commercial and institutional links between Catalonia and the Province of Buenos Aires through a series of meetings aimed at opening new opportunities for international cooperation for the local business ecosystem.

In this context, the Garraf region hosted the institutional visit of Ms Sandra d’Agostino, Undersecretary for Digital Government, International and Interjurisdictional Relations of the Province of Buenos Aires. The visit formed part of Obreal’s ongoing work to foster connections between European and Latin American regions and to facilitate dialogue between public institutions and economic actors.

The programme included a business meeting entitled New Markets, New Opportunities: Connecting Garraf with Buenos Aires, which brought together around twenty local companies and stakeholders. The session focused on exploring access to new markets and identifying potential areas of collaboration, particularly in sectors related to innovation, technology and advanced services.

During her intervention, Ms d’Agostino highlighted the potential of Buenos Aires as a strategic market and emphasised the complementarity between the Argentine and Catalan business ecosystems, underlining the importance of building stable and long-term relationships between territories.

Exploring opportunities for international cooperation

The visit also included an institutional meeting with representatives from the local and regional economic sphere, including the Mayor of Olivella and President of Node Garraf, economic development officers from several municipalities in the Garraf region, the Garraf branch of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and the Federació Empresarial del Gran Penedès. This meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on international cooperation as a driver of territorial development.

Through initiatives such as this, Obreal contributes to fostering international dialogue and cooperation between territories, supporting the exchange of knowledge and the identification of new opportunities for collaboration between Catalonia and Latin American regions.
