Renewed cooperation with Morocco strengthens ties in higher education

Obreal has renewed and strengthened its long-standing cooperation relationship with Morocco on higher education and quality assurance. In the framework of the 5th General Assembly of the RAFANAQ network, Nicolás Patrici, Director of Strategy at Obreal, and Rachid Hilal, Director of the National Agency for Evaluation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Morocco (ANEAQ), signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through this agreement, both institutions formally commit to relaunching and orienting their cooperation towards concrete initiatives of shared interest. Specifically, the Memorandum of Understanding establishes:

  • The development of joint projects and the pursuit of synergies between ongoing initiatives.
  • Support from Obreal to ANEAQ in identifying new international partners, including higher education associations and organisations, and in promoting policy dialogues and collaborative projects.
  • The joint preparation of proposals for national and international funding calls.
  • The development of cooperation activities such as joint webinars, training actions and dialogue spaces.
Obreal has renewed and strengthened its long-standing cooperation relationship with Morocco on higher education and quality assurance signing a Memorandum of Understanding.

This renewed cooperation also aims to strengthen links between Morocco, Catalonia, Spain and Europe, and to advance the participation of the Kingdom of Morocco and its institutions in the forthcoming interregional dialogue on education and development, to be held in Cairo.

Through this agreement, Obreal reaffirms its role as a key actor in the articulation of policies and interregional cooperation in higher education between Africa, Europe and Latin America.

Meetings with African partners and international organisations

RAFANAQ’s 5th General Assembly, provided an important opportunity to discuss ongoing developments in higher education quality assurance across Africa, as well as the progress of strategic projects in which Obreal is actively involved, including Joint QA and QA Doc. Discussions also addressed central issues for the development of the African higher education space, such as recognition of qualifications, quality assurance mechanisms and regional integration processes.

During these days, Obreal carried out an intensive programme of meetings with African partner institutions and key international organisations such as UNESCO, AUF, DAAD and ENQA.
