OBREAL has carefully studied the Concept Note released by Brazil for its 2024 G-20 Presidency and welcomes its three priorities: social inclusion and fight against hunger and poverty, sustainable development and energy transitions; and reform of global governance institutions. It also considers enlightening to summarize the current global challenges in a single word: inequality.
On the specific Education Working Group Issue Note, which OBREAL has also carefully studied, it is especially welcome the reference to the importance of the learning and teaching materials on Education for Sustainable Development for content sharing which coincides with OBREAL’s new approaches to learning.
OBREAL renews its commitment to the activities and objectives of the G-20, in particular in the area of South-South Interregional dialogue; and calls all its members and partners, and the whole higher education community, to contribute to the success of the Brazilian Presidency in all these areas.
