Obreal undertakes a working visit to foster strategic collaborations in East Africa
Obreal carried out a working visit to East Africa with the aim of strengthening its relationships with institutions in the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) region. This mission forms part of efforts to consolidate a sustained institutional presence in East Africa and to explore new opportunities for cooperation in higher education and science.
During the visit, work focused on establishing long-term partnerships with countries such as Kenya and Uganda, promoting initiatives related to quality assurance, the recognition of qualifications and collaborative research. These lines of action respond to shared priorities in the development of university systems and regional academic cooperation.
The agenda also included a meeting between Obreal representatives and the director of ACCIÓ for Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, aimed at advancing an institutional cooperation environment. This approach seeks to replicate collaboration frameworks already developed in other regions, supporting the progressive articulation of academic and institutional actors in East Africa.
