As an important synergy related to its projects in the wine innovation, tourism and skilling sector, Obreal has participated in the meeting organized by Areni Global, an international network for cooperation in the fine wine industry, on its new publication Rethinking Education: Shaping the Future of the Wine Trade. This whitepaper explores gaps in professional wine education, and how to align skilling opportunities with industry’s crucial issues.

The paper is of relevance for the project that Obreal co-leads with University Rovira I Virgili -‘EnoTour (Erasmus+ Alliance for Innovation) – where Obreal coordinates the component on MOOC development for skilling in wine tourism. It is also relevant for the recently launched project GastroTour, coordinated be member Telavi State University in Georgia. GastroTour, an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project, is developing dynamic learning offers that respect nuanced sectoral needs in Georgia and South Africa. It will consider diversity, sustainability and cultural heritage preservation as it relates to a growing industry in both countries.

Obreal still promotes an important white paper that was published in 2021 for the Vita Global project on Internationalizing and Flexibilizing higher education for local development, which has been a precedent for both EnoTour and GastroTour.
