OBREAL Global and the EU-LAC Foundation met in Barcelona on 20 January to review and evaluate the joint work plan for 2021. Both organisations evaluate positively the development of the joint work plan, having achieved the objective of strengthening cooperation in Higher Education and Science, Technology and Research between Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union.
Among other initiatives, we would like to highlight the public events organised by both organisations during the 2021. A series of webinars have been held jointly with the OBREAL Global Chapter Central America as part of the preparatory events for the IX Congreso Universitario Centroamericano (IX Central American University Congress) which took place in June 2021.
In addition, within the framework of the Erasmus + project Mimir Andino, a series of conversations entitled Cafés Mimir Andino were held, in which different topics were explored such as the implementation of the research and innovation management model, the specialisation of research and public investment, the university and public opinion or the management of information systems for the institutional development of research in Universities.
In this meeting held in Barcelona, OBREAL Global and the EU-LAC Foundation agreed on a new work plan for 2022 in which we will once again work side by side to promote the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of Higher Education and Science, Technology and Research between Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union and between both regions.
