The National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions of Mexico (ANUIES) and Obreal jointly organised a capacity-building workshop, held from 13 to 16 May, aimed at strengthening the ability of Mexican higher education institutions to design, participate in, and manage international cooperation projects aligned with their internationalisation strategies.
The event took place in a hybrid format at the ANUIES Centre for Innovation and Development in Mexico City and brought together more than 100 participants representing over 40 universities and higher education institutions from across the country.
Delivered by experts from Obreal, the workshop focused on various European frameworks for promoting higher education and international cooperation, with particular emphasis on the Erasmus+ Programme. Its main goal was to provide practical tools that would enable more Mexican institutions to access international funding opportunities and strengthen their global engagement.
Over the course of four days, participants worked in teams, combining presentations with hands-on exercises, building practical skills in project formulation and implementation.
The opening session featured remarks by Dr. Luis Armando González Placencia, Secretary General of ANUIES; Mr. Francisco André, Ambassador of the European Union to Mexico; and Mr. Jaume Fortuny, Obreal’s Training Coordinator.
This workshop reaffirms the commitment of Obreal and ANUIES to institutional capacity-building in Mexico and to fostering sustainable bridges between Latin America and Europe in the field of higher education.
