On December 9, 2023, the Colombian Government, the African Union, the Association of African Universties, ASCUN, and OBREAL hosted the launch of the Third Interregional Dialogue on Higher Education and Development, setting the stage for a significant event planned for November 2025 in Bogotá.
The launch of the Third Interregional Dialogue was chaired by the Vice Minister of Knowledge, Innovation and Productivity of Colombia, Ana Lucia Caicedo Laurido, the Executive Director of ASCUN, Oscar Domínguez, the Secretary General of the AAU, Olusola Oyewole, and the Director of Strategy and Development of OBREAL, Nicolás Patrici.
They all emphazised the importance of creating spaces of dialogue and cooperation between Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa, and invited all stakeholders to participate both in the preparatory activities leading up to the event in November and the event itself.
November 2025: the Third Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development will take place in Bogotá
Leaders from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa will come together to address critical development challenges through the intersection of education, science, and innovation. The dialogue will foster the interface between scientific priorities, research, innovation, and the developmental goals of national governments.
This initiative promises to tackle shared challenges and develop collaborative solutions to advance higher education and sustainable development.
