2024 Edition
The Julio Cotler Program was created in 2024, as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Obreal’s founding, as a tribute to Professor Julio Cotler (1932–2019). A central intellectual figure during Obreal’s early years, his belief in the transformative power of higher education to address social inequalities serves as the inspiration for this initiative. The program aims to promote analysis and dialogue on the main challenges facing democracies in Latin America.
It is presented as a dynamic platform that seeks to promote emerging critical Latin American voices to rethink the structures of contemporary democracies, with the aim of encouraging academic production by young people from Latin America and the Caribbean.
