HERE-SA synergies meeting at the Munster Institute of Technology -MTU- in Cork (Ireland).

The first bilateral meeting of the OBREAL Global’s secretariat trip to Cork was with Munster Institute of Technology (MTU).

This meeting was held in the framework of the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education project Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE-SA), OBREAL Global and Munster Institute of Technology -MTU- met to discuss the recently established training program and how to approach the communities of practice that will assist with the implementation of the training program. The meeting also served to talk about the operational plan of the HERES-A Project to be implemented in the second year of the project.

In the second part of the meeting OBREAL Global and MTU explored their more recent projects and activities, amongst there are projects and ideas related to entrepreneurship education, re-skilling and upskilling as well as micro-credentials, that are becoming strategic topics for both institutions.

OBREAL Global and MTU committed to strengthen their institutional cooperation and to explore funding opportunities for those project ideas.

About HERE-SA

Inspired by the European Union funded network of ‘Higher Education Reform Experts’ (HERE) in European neighborhood countries, HERE SA would like to launch and sustain a similar network at the national level in SA, which could be eventually extended to all HEI in the sector. The network would be comprised of individuals that were strategically selected given their roles in overseeing and guiding teaching and learning at their institutions, and potential to be catalysts for change in the HE sector. The HERE SA project would train and capacitate these individuals to enable them to advise their institutions and the sector on holistic higher education development to meet labour market and societal needs.
