Obreal, as the coordinator of the SPHERE (Support for Higher Education Reform Experts), with partner EUA, is organizing a topical seminar on “The End of Degrees? Micro-credentials, skills and employability” in Rabat Morocco 2-3 June, 2025). Hosted by the International University of Rabat and facilitated by the National Erasmus+ Plus office and the Moroccan HERE team, the event is one of several training and dialogue events that SPHERE facilitates for the European Union (who fund the SPHERE initiative) in EU partner countries. - Industry and private sector insights on micro-credentials for life-long learning and skilling, and the expectations they have for higher education providers;
- Assessing higher education student expectations as they relate to employability and the role micro-credentials can play;
- Assessing micro-credentials as they relate to student-centred learning and employability, and the implications for curricula design and university-industry relations;
- Situating micro-credentials in relation to universities’ digitalisation strategies.
Over 70 participants are attending from 18 countries in the EU neighborhood (Northern Africa, Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia) as well as EU experts from the Bologna Follow-Up Group, ENQA and the European Students Union.
