Third Interregional Dialogue
Since 2022, the Interregional Dialogues on Education and Development have become a key platform for fostering strategic cooperation between CELAC and the African Union. These dialogues have strengthened alliances among governments, universities, and key development actors, promoting inclusive and forward-looking collaboration rooted in shared histories, common challenges, and collective aspirations.
The third edition of the Dialogue — co-organized by the Government of Colombia (in its role as CELAC’s pro tempore presidency), the African Union, Obreal, the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN), and the Association of African Universities (AAU) — builds on the success of previous editions to advance joint actions in the fields of education, science, and sustainable development. Its goal is to generate innovative responses to the most pressing global challenges in Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
A WEEK OF SYNERGIES AND IMPACT
This edition of the Dialogue will be held in parallel with the 7th General Assembly and International Conference of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). This strategic convergence represents a unique opportunity for participants from both events to engage in joint sessions and cross-cutting discussions, fostering stronger interdisciplinary and interregional collaboration.
Bringing together a wide range of actors — from policymakers and academic leaders to researchers and civil society organizations — the week will offer a dynamic and inclusive platform for the co-creation of transformative solutions. The shared agenda will address critical topics such as educational reform, scientific innovation, digital inclusion, and gender equity, driving sustainable development and interregional cooperation among Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Europe.
