Chapter South America Webinar Series – Trends in Internationalisation of the Curriculum and Digitisation: Perspectives from the South and the North

During the first semester of 2021, the Chapter Southamerica of OBREAL Global worked on the design and implementation of a series of data collection strategies on trends in Curriculum Internationalisation and Digitisation in South America. The associations of rectors and universities of Brazil  (ANDIFES), Chile (CRUCH), Colombia (ASCUN) and Mexico (ANUIES), the Asociación de Universidades del Grupo de Montevideo with the technical support of LINED of the Universidad de Mar del Plata in Argentina, the Universidad Veracruzana of México and the OBREAL Global secretariat in Barcelona conducted a series of activities in Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil and Mexico in order to learn about trends in the internationalisation of the curriculum and digitisation in higher education institutions in South America and Mexico.

From the work carried out and the analysis of the trends, a series of conclusions were drawn and a number of capacity development needs were identified in higher education institutions in the region. Thus, this series of webinars and workshops organised by the South American chapter of OBREAL-Global aims to present, discuss and put into global and inter-regional perspective the main trends on internationalisation of the curriculum and digitisation of learning in South America, as well as to offer a training space for the institutions of the region that participated in the exercises that the South American chapter carried out.
