Association of African Universities to Host 2023 COREVIP Conference in Namibia

The Association of African Universities, with the support of OBREAL Global, is set to organise the 2023 edition of the Conference of Rectors, Vice-Chancellors, and Presidents of African Universities (COREVIP) from July 4 to 8. The event, which will take place in Windhoek, Namibia, is expected to bring together over 800 participants from various regions around the world.

The conference will provide a platform for delegates to discuss excellence, successful initiatives, interventions, and outcomes in African higher education. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with high-level government representatives, including Mohammed Belhocine, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology of the African Union, and Jaime Perczyk, the Minister of Education of Argentina.

COREVIP serves as the African framework for the follow-up of the Interregional Dialogue on Interregional Cooperation in Education and Development, a conference organised by OBREAL Global earlier this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Association of African Universities kindly accepted the role, recognising the importance of fostering collaboration and partnerships in African higher education.

Representatives from prominent organisations such as the Asociación Colombiana de Universidades (Colombia), the Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior (Mexico), CAPES (Brazil), the Ministry of Education of Argentina, the Consejo Interuniversitario Nacional (Argentina), the Latin American and Caribbean Space for Higher Education -ENLACES-, the Inter-University Council for East Africa, the Southern African Regional Universities Association, the Association of African Universities, the German Academic Exchange Service, and the European University Association will also participate in the conference.

One of the key focuses of the event will be the future of South-South-North cooperation in education and development. With representatives from Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Asia, and North America in attendance, the conference aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among these regions.

COREVIP 2023 promises to be an enriching experience for all participants, as they exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore opportunities for further advancement in African higher education.
