Preparations begin for 4th Interregional Dialogue in Cairo

Obreal representatives have met with authorities from the Association of Arab Universities and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, to start the preparations for the organization of the 4th Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development.

These meetings, held in Cairo, marked a first operational step towards structuring the preparation of this important event which is scheduled to take place during the first two weeks of December 2026.

As announced during the celebration of the 3rd Interregional Dialogue in Bogotá, the Ministry of Egypt intends to strengthen the participation of the Arab world in the interregional dialogue process. In this context, the Minister highlighted Egypt’s role as a natural bridge between Africa and the Arab world and reaffirmed Cairo as the host city for the next Dialogue.

Preparations begin in Cairo for the 4th Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development, strengthening Arab, African, European and LAC cooperation.

During the meetings in Cairo, Minister Ashour confirmed Egypt’s interest in the Dialogue not only as a space to bring Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean closer to the Arab world, but also as a platform that can contribute to the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030.

OBREAL, AArU and the Government of Egypt, together with the African Union as a key partner in the process, are already working on a series of background documents that will serve as the basis for the content and objectives of the 4th Interregional Dialogue.
